Other Places

  • Hurstbourne Park
Seat of Lord Portsmouth and home of the Portsmouth collection of manuscripts before the scientific papers were donated to Cambridge and the remainder later sold. Hurstbourne itself was sold earlier this century and Lord Portsmouth's seat is now Farleigh House (which is the current location of the remaining Newtonian items in the Earl's possession, including the 1689 Kneller portrait. The portrait can be viewed by appointment only, by contacting the following address: The Manager, The Estate Office, Farleigh Wallop, Basingstoke, Hants, RG25 2HT. Tel: 01256 321026. Many thanks to the Earl of Portsmouth for providing this information.)

  • Oxford
Apparently the site of a university ...

The coastline in this map was made using the excellent Xerox PARC Map Viewer.
