Raymond and Beverly Sackler Archive Resource The Raymond and Beverly Sackler Archive Resource is a specially designed database of biographical information on Fellows of the Royal Society elected between 1660, the year of the Royal Societys foundation, and 1950. The development of the Resource is a five-year project generously funded by the Sackler Foundation. Now into its third year, the Resource contains names and titles, dates of birth, death and election to the Society, Society medals and lectures won/delivered, and offices held. Election certificates, which commenced in 1731, are being transcribed onto the database. Each certificate comprises a citation, explaining why a Fellow was proposed and signature of the candidate's supporters. One future aim of the project is to attach images to records. The images will include portraits of the Fellows from the Society's collections, and their certificates of election. Contributions of biographical details on any of the subjects of the database would be most welcome.
