De Getande Rand

Regular Lodge of Freemasons under the Grand East of the Netherlands

Based in the city of Alphen aan den Rijn.

If you want this in Dutch

  This is the Lodge's seal. …………………………… .

In Alphen aan den Rijn is an active Lodge of Freemasons belonging to the regular Order of Freemasons under the Grand East of the Netherlands. This Lodge assembles every Thursday, except for the summer holidays. The Lodge has about 40 members from the regio Mid-Holland.

You will meet a variety of members, from protestant to reformed, from jewish to arab and from different levels in society.

What we have in common is:

By listening to each other, learning from each other and to behave like brothers, each Lodge evening becomes a not likely missed event.

The name of the Lodge "De Getande Rand" (the indented edge) may be odd-sounding to people, but not to freemasons.
It refers to the blocked floor in many Lodges that is surrounded with such an intended edge. This became a symbol for fidelity, trust and comfort of the brothers in the Lodge.
