Photo Library

Issac NewtonThe Library holds over 6000 photographs, engravings and portraits of past and present Fellows, catalogued by name. There is also a large collection of mainly uncatalogued engravings and original drawings covering a wide range of scientific subjects, including scientific instruments such as early microscopes and telescopes, and the images seen through these instruments.

A photographic service is offered to researchers, publishers and television companies. New photography can be arranged for items for which negatives are not yet held.

Reproduction fees are payable, either to the Society or to the copyright holder, if the Society does not hold the copyright.
